| My father did contract work for Pfizer, and my mother worked in nursing homes where I volunteered countless hours in my youth, ferrying fresh water to senior citizens. Years later, my mother ran clinical trial testing sites for some of the world's top pharmaceutical companies. As a child, some of my closest adult friends were doctors, and today, I still have doctors as friends.
I've been around medicine my entire life, and for most of my adult life, I believed in modern medicine. When I felt pain, I took a painkiller. When my sinuses were congested, I took a prescription-strength decongestant. |

A study reported in the Journal of the American Medical Association revealed that senior citizens who took tranquilizers suffered 70 percent more hip fractures than did other people their age. Very often, medications can affect balance. You should discuss this particular side effect with your physician before taking any medication.

Cashiers in liquor stores periodically tell us about senior citizens who surreptitiously buy a bottle of gin for their arthritis. They don't want their friends or neighbors to know their little secret. Some say the nine daily raisins help their knees. Others insist the remedy relieves the pain and inflammation in their neck or elbows.
My mother has arthritis in the joint of one of her little fingers. The joint was frozen and she was in constant pain. Since she started eating gin-soaked golden raisins, the pain is gone and she is able to play tennis twice a week without discomfort. |

Tonight's lecture is about the frightening subject of heart disease, but the full house of senior citizens is in for a treat. Unlike a lot of what they normally hear, this presentation is not designed to inflame their fears but, rather, to better inform them. One of the first things they learn is that having high blood pressure, as many of them do, is not a disease in its own right, but instead it is one factor than can raise their risk of future heart attacks and strokes. Like cholesterol, blood pressure attracts a lot of attention, because it can be easily modified with drugs. |

It will be held back from everyone but senior citizens, people lucky enough to have the right doctor or those who have the right amount of money to buy it on the underground market. Basically, it will be available to certain selected people. We have no idea how those people are going to be selected, but it's not going to be available for everybody who needs it, if anybody needs it. If there's a pandemic, you can just line up at the end of the line because there's going to be a whole nation of people lining up in front of you, trying to get their hands on some of this Tamiflu. |

How many senior citizens have to die of gastrointestinal bleeding from the consumption of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) before the FDA will say, "Gee, maybe they should have a warning on them?" How many people have to die in this country before the FDA will stand up and do its job? When will the American people start listening?
You know, everywhere else around the world, the FDA is a complete joke. Here's The Independent in the U.K., doing a report on the FDA that you probably would never see in the United States. Why not? |

There are a lot of senior citizens out there who are spending small fortunes on calcium supplements and antacid tablets, but they're not getting any sunshine. And that means they're not getting enough vitamin D. With a vitamin D deficiency, they can't even absorb the calcium. It's either going right through their bodies or actually contributing to the buildup of calcification in their kidneys. So guess what? They'll probably end up with kidney stones. |

It's positioned at bodybuilders, but it's actually the underground secret book of strength training for people who are 50 years and older. senior citizens benefit from this tremendously. There are also many golfers who use this system to greatly increase their range and golf swing.
Women are additionally benefiting from this system -- when you're dealing with the potential for osteoporosis when you get up in your years, bone density becomes crucial for your overall health. |

It was about why teenagers like to stay up all night and senior citizens like to go to bed early.
Pederson: The human body clock actually shifts ahead when you go through puberty, which is why my son -- who's 10 -- is in bed at 8:30 with lights out -- and he's asleep at 9:01. He sleeps like a rock through the night and then he wakes up at seven in the morning with a smile on his face. I know when he gets to be 12 years old, he's going to want to stay up all night and sleep all day. His body clock is shifted ahead. |

What the Research Shows
Zinc has been suggested as a natural cure for colds and acne and a way to improve fertility, enhance athletic performance, and strengthen the immune system in senior citizens. It may also help those with macular degeneration, an incurable disease that damages a part of the retina called the macula and severely impairs vision.
The research on the effects of zinc on colds and macular degeneration has produced some good results. For example:
• Colds. |

Once, the FDA raided a church and confiscated literally tons of church literature that helped people with mental health issues. senior citizens returning from Canada were also detained and searched for legal drugs that they purchased at discounts across the Canadian border. Again and again, the FDA and the quack promoters of conventional medicine resort to the use of firearms (or the threat of using them) to enforce our modern system of monopoly medicine. It is exactly as if conventional medicine had declared war on the American people. |

And the rest of the population too, you name it: Adults, senior citizens, expectant mothers – forty percent of our nation is now on prescription drugs. It is unprecedented in the history of the world. The level of corruption and the number of criminals now running our health care system is unprecedented in the history of the world. These are criminals who need to be arrested. Someone in a position of authority – someone like the Attorney General – needs to run in there and make some arrests.

For brain exercise, you can work on crossword puzzles, play strategy games on the PC, or engage in social games (there are studies that actually show bingo helps enhance the brain function of senior citizens). If bingo has a healthy function, then imagine what great effects you would have from activities that actually engage more than 2 percent of your brain.
Writing essays is an excellent way to practice your brain function, and of course reading is outstanding. |

This is especially true in nursing home patients or senior citizens. I used to volunteer at a nursing home, so I know what it's like; I've seen these people, and many of them -- in fact, I would say the vast majority -- are malnourished. They are often still malnourished, even though they are consuming enough food matter and vitamin matter to eliminate deficiencies. The problem is that they are not digesting those nutrients.
But with a product like the Ola Loa, their digestive system doesn't have to do as much work. Some of these vitamins go into the bloodstream right in the mouth. |

This, by the way, helps explain why so many senior citizens get osteoporosis today even though they think they're taking plenty of calcium supplements. The reason is they don't have enough vitamin D to actually absorb the calcium. So they start out with a vitamin D deficiency due to lack of sunlight, and they end up with a calcium deficiency even though they're taking lots of calcium supplements. The end result is, of course, osteoporosis or osteomalacia, the advanced stage of osteoporosis. |

If you teach a thousand senior citizens how to prevent falls, you're going to see a reduction in falls and fractures, regardless of bone mineral density. It could mean that education is a very good strategy -- just as good as supplements. They could be equally effective at preventing bone fractures.
Again, not one of the mainstream press stories that reported this bothered to examine the facts on this study. I haven't found a single journalist covering this study who actually looked at the structure of the study with any degree of skepticism. |
| REPPED: Based on a new research study published in The Lancet (April, 2005), newspaper headlines around the world are proclaiming that senior citizens should throw away their calcium supplements and turn to prescription drugs as their primary treatment for osteoporosis and bone fractures. Gee, what a convenient message for Big Pharma. It's not like we haven't heard this before: remember the recent effort to try to convince people that vitamin E would kill them? |

A lot of senior citizens in this country also suffer from hip fractures and bone loss due partly to an overdose of fluoride.)
Or let's take a different track and follow the line of thinking of the American Dental Association -- let's mass medicate the entire population with lots of other drugs. Why stop at fluoride? Why don't we drip antidepressants into the water supply, and that way we can have more people committing violent acts and suicide -- documented side effects of antidepressants. |

This is how the federal government comes up with nonsensical ideas like the Medicare "drug discount card." If senior citizens sign up, they can buy drugs in the U.S. at monopoly prices that are only 500% more expensive than the same drugs in Canada, Europe or Mexico. But this is a huge savings (we're told) over the 700% markup people usually pay in the United States, thanks to a policy of drug protectionism fully enforced by the FDA. Our government claims to support free trade, unless of course it harms the profits of politically-connected corporations like those who characterize Big Pharma. |

This plan really has two purposes: First, it makes President Bush popular by making sure he has lots of handouts for senior citizens, a demographic that happens to have a high number of active voters. Secondly, it's a big Bush handout to campaign supporters, notably Big Pharma. You see, drug companies have supported the Bush administration for years, and this is a great way to thank them, by actually having the government steal money from taxpayers and send that money to pharmaceutical companies. It's legalized inter-generational theft.

The population's average age is rising, and now there are more senior citizens than ever before. A child born in 1997 can expect to live at least 76.5 years, 29 years longer than a child born in 1900. A man who reaches age sixty-five in 2004 can expect to live an additional 15.8 years, and a woman can expect to live an additional 17.6 years.
The goal for all of us then becomes learning how to take control of our aging process so that we can enjoy lasting health. Healthy aging is associated with an increased degree of brain function. |

Modern society is addicted to drugs
Someday historians will look back on this era and wonder with great bewilderment how we could poison our children with such toxic chemicals, how we could poison an entire generation with prescription drugs and how we could keep all our senior citizens in a zombie state, dosed up on mind-altering drugs. They will wonder, "How could we do this as a society? Were we insane? Were we completely out of our minds? What was wrong with this society?"
At that time, society will have moved way beyond chemical-based medicine. |

This is information that doesn't get told to senior citizens, and modern doctors don't even understand it. They think that you treat osteoporosis with drugs, which is ridiculous. The only thing you need in order to treat osteoporosis is sunlight, calcium and a little bit of physical exercise. You will rebuild bone mineral density very rapidly on that kind of program.
The bottom line: Get some sun on your skin
Make sure that you're getting sunlight on your skin. If you do this one thing, and do it consistently, it will create such a positive health outcome. |

What's fermented protein, anyway? Stay with me on this, because it's a bit unusual. Remember how tofu is just fermented soy? Compared to soy, tofu is far more digestible (and far healthier, many say). The ForeverWell company uses a similar process to ferment fish protein. Yes, fish. Why? Because fish is the best source of clean, bioavailable protein. (No, they're not farmed fish, they're ocean fish. |

In the mean time, I shall continue to work on nutrition education programs that aim to improve the physical health and mental health of children, expectant mothers, senior citizens and people of all ages and nationalities. In a very real sense, one of the best ways to help us all find lasting peace and freedom is to promote health, nutrition and avoidance of prescription drugs and other toxic chemicals. The healthier we are as citizens of our respective nations, the more positive our decisions will be in all areas: political, ecological, sociological, etc. |

Canada, and force senior citizens to pay ridiculous prices for deadly drugs. And I'm outraged by a national media that's so tied to drug company advertising revenues that we'll probably never be able to repeal direct-to-consumer advertising (which is partly responsible for this Vioxx mess).
It's time for serious action. It's time to go after these criminal pharmaceutical executives and charge them with the crimes they have committed against humanity. It's time to hit these companies where it hurts: right in the pocketbook. It's time to put Merck and its competition out of business for good... |

But now, senior citizens often take five or six drugs a day, at a cost of thousands of dollars a year out of pocket. Since seniors constitute a strong voting bloc, both political parties were eager to provide a drug benefit before the 2004 elections.
But look at what Congress did. They passed a bill that explicitly prohibits Medicare from using its enormous purchasing power to bargain for low prices. Medicare will have no say in what drug companies are paid, and it will have to cover expensive me-too drugs as well as more cost-effective ones. |

Stretching will elongate and strengthen the tendons and get the muscles warmed up and ready for movement. senior citizens in general will take a longer time to warm up.
Some exercises that are recommended for senior citizens are: fast walking, low-impact aerobics, weight lifting, yoga for stretching; T'ai Chi or Chi Gong for treadmill and the stair-climbing machine. All exercises that are not too impacting on the joints are beneficial.
